University Technology Center in Minneapolis.

This was John Marshall High School.  It was converted to a small business incubator.  Kel Heyl : I designed office suites and managed construction.

UTC is located in Dinkytown near the University.  Just down the street are some of the venues where Bob Dylan first appeared.

Kel Heyl : I proposed UTC offer one person offices.  I was intrigued with symmetry.  Instead of putting the cut pieces of suspended ceiling on the perimeter, I put them in the middle.

The alcove was for storage.  This space was the old wood shop.  It had sprinklers.  The City didn't want the sprinklers concealed, so we used eggcrate panels.
