Last week had a final inspection for a project in Roseville.  As I was walking the inspector to the door we were sharing war stories.  He told me of a project he'd just come from.  The agreed on price was 34K.  At the conclusion the homeowner handed the contractor a check for 30 and said, "Go ahead and try to collect.  Go ahead and try to sue me."  The inspector told me there were tears in the contractor's eyes as he related the tale.  I concluded the chat by saying I tie most of my payments to inspections.  The first progress payment isn't due until the City has inspected and approved all mechanical and electrical rough-ins.  And approved the framing.  .........
