When I was a carpenter’s apprentice in the late 70’s we might have one AM radio on the job.  Four inch speaker.  Always tuned to DGY.  Country and Western.  As the guys who taught me the trade retired stereo FM swept across the site.  The new generation of foremen and sup’s listened to KQ.  Then came CD’s and remote controls.  When Jimi Way and I worked together the hardest decision we made all day was which satellite station to listen to.  263 choices + one for silence.  Right now the team’s got Pandora blasting through a Jambox.  Were there lutes and viols playing while the High Gothic Cathedrals rose?
